The MBS is a listing of the Medicare services subsidised by the Australian Government and is part of the wider Medicare Benefits Scheme managed by the Department of Health and administered by Medicare Australia.
MBS Items Online Checker
The MBS Items Online Checker can be used to determine if an identified MBS item has been claimed for a specific patient within a pre-defined period of time.
The Online Checker will advise you if you are eligible to claim a Medicare benefit for that particular service, based on the patient’s Medicare history.
You can access the MBS Items Online Checker through HPOS via PRODA.
