Dr Tony Rombola takes over as Board Chair

I am pleased to welcome Dr Tony Rombola as the new Chair of the Wentworth Healthcare Board.

In November our previous Chair, Dr Andrew Knight, will have served his maximum term as a Director and will be leaving our Board after a seven year tenure. This change of responsibility prior to Andrew's departure will allow Tony to have a smooth transition and a comprehensive handover. I would like to thank Andrew for his vision and leadership as Chair and for his support for me as CEO.

Tony has a strong history with our organisation, having been a Director on our Board since 2013, and brings a wealth of healthcare experience to the role. He has worked as a GP in Windsor for over 25 years including providing services to a men's rehabilitation centre, and to a number of Residential Aged Care Facilities in the Hawkesbury. As a local GP, Tony understands the health challenges we face and is passionate about advocating for both the needs of our community and the needs of health professionals in our region.

Tony has a keen interest in medical education. He is an Adjunct Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Notre Dame Sydney Medical School and also a GP Supervisor with GP Synergy. He is a fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a founding committee member of the Hawkesbury Doctor’s Network.

We are excited to have Tony's skills and experience at the helm, and under his leadership we look forward to continuing our work to improve the health outcomes of our region.
