Community Representative for Healthy Ageing Advisory Committee
We are seeking a community member living or working in the Blue Mountains or Lithgow local government areas to join our Healthy Ageing Advisory Committee (HAAC). We welcome expressions of interest from Penrith and Hawkesbury residents if no applicants are received from these areas.
Background
Our HAAC was established in 2022, previously known as the Older Person’s Consortium (established 2019). This committee brings together representatives from general practice, allied health, the Local Health District, residential aged care homes, NSW Ambulance and the community.
HAAC meetings provide an opportunity for information sharing, consultation and open discussion. The committee plays a key role in advising us of emerging issues from both a health professional and community perspective.
Ideally, our community representative is passionate about supporting older people living in our community and aged care homes, and has an interest in the aged care sector.
What’s involved
The HAAC meets online on a quarterly basis and offers an opportunity to:
- Receive insight into the latest healthy ageing initiatives
- Be informed about new healthy ageing programs
- Play a key role in improving the health of older people in our region
Expression of interest
Express your interest by completing the form below by 5.00pm, Thursday 31 July. Contact our Healthy Ageing and Palliative Care Manager on 4708 8100 or via email if you have any questions.
