A non-residential day treatment service for individuals with Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) substance dependency related issues. Dianella Cottage applies a harm minimisation framework at all stages of addressing substance use.
Services are offered via face-to-face or telehealth as appropriate, these include:
- Intake, assessment, and treatment planning
- Individual Counselling
- Case-management and support
- Non-residential day rehabilitation group programs (including SMART Recovery Groups)
The AOD and Relapse Prevention Program is specifically aimed at reducing the risk of relapse for individuals exiting AOD rehabilitation treatment or are involved in the justice system (i.e., recently released from a correctional service).
This program offers support for all levels of care, from low to high needs. Lives Lived Well can support clients with co-occurring mental health needs, but only from a low to medium needs capacity.
Service-specific criteria
- Individuals aged > 18 years with AOD substance dependency issues
- Living or working in the Blue Mountains or Lithgow LGAs and surrounding areas
Referral
- Self referral
- Referrals from GPs and or other agencies
An assessment process, offered by Dianella Cottage, is required before a client can enter the service

Dianella Cottage – Aftercare Relapse Prevention Program is available Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm and offered at both Katoomba and Lithgow sites.
Face-to-face services have resumed with COVID-19 safety measures in place, and telehealth services are still an option if needed.
