Drop in Doc

Homelessness is a growing issue in Penrith and can include sleeping rough, couch surfing, or living in unstable or overcrowded housing.
Our Homelessness Needs Assessment (February 2024) found that people experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness, have significantly poorer health outcomes, which further deteriorate the longer their homelessness persists. In addition, a safe environment with relationships built on trust, is essential to support access to primary healthcare services for people experiencing homelessness.
We fund a local general practice to provide a GP and nurse, and Link Wentworth to provide a care coordinator, through the Drop-In Doc service, which offers short-term, walk-in care and connects people with ongoing support.
