Facts and statistics

Dementia affects many in our community. In addition to people who are living with dementia, many members of our community provide care for someone living with dementia.

There are up to 350,000 people in Australia who provide care for people living with dementia. As our population is ageing, the rates of dementia are expected to increase in our community. 

Many people with dementia are living well in the community for many years with support from services and family and friends

This event will provide information for ways to keep the brain active to help slow cognitive decline and what can be done to slow the progression of the disease. There will be information for carers about ways they can be supported.
