St Marys Medical Surgery are seeking a compassionate and motivated Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary primary care team in Western Sydney.
Position Overview
This role offers the opportunity to work within a supportive GP clinic environment, delivering high-quality mental health services to a diverse and growing patient population.
The Psychologist will play a key role in delivering evidence-based psychological interventions and supporting patients with a wide range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and chronic disease-related psychological challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide psychological assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based therapy
- Deliver structured interventions such as CBT, ACT, and brief interventions
- Manage patients under Mental Health Treatment Plans (MHTP)
- Maintain accurate and compliant clinical documentation
- Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, and allied health professionals
- Provide culturally appropriate care to diverse populations, including CALD communities
- Contribute to quality improvement and patient outcome monitoring
Essential Criteria
- Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency Eligible for Medicare provider number
- Experience in delivering evidence-based therapies (e.g., CBT)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Desirable Criteria
- Clinical Psychology endorsement (or working towards)
- Experience in primary care or GP clinic settings
- Interest in working with culturally diverse populations
- Experience with chronic disease-related mental health care
