Board Director – Primary Healthcare – Allied Health

Wentworth Healthcare Limited, provider of the Nepean-Blue Mountains Primary Health Network is seeking expressions of interest from suitably skilled directors for consideration by the Board for a Director position to commence in early 2025. 
    
The not-for profit public company is a registered health promotion charity that was established in February 2012 and has a skills-based board of nine directors. The organisation seeks to improve the health of the communities of Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury, Lithgow and Penrith. Its mission is to empower general practice and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, accessible and integrated primary healthcare that meets the needs of our community.

Expertise as a suitably skilled director with in-depth knowledge and experience in primary healthcare in addition to the following: 
  • An accredited allied health professional with demonstrable experience in the primary care profession; 
  • Demonstrable commitment to allied health participation in the multi-disciplinary primary care team; 
  • Demonstrable strong networks and leadership in primary care and a commitment to improving the provision of primary care across the region*;
  • Understanding of Australia’s health policy environment and health reform agenda, and the ability to identify opportunities to progress the strategic vision of Wentworth Healthcare; 
  • An understanding of corporate governance principles and financial literacy to the level expected of a director; and
  • Previous Board experience and formal training in directorship/corporate governance will be highly regarded.  
The Governance and Nominations Committee will review Applicants against WHL’s skills matrix with particular consideration of the essential criteria specified above. A Director stipend is paid.

* The Nepean Blue Mountains PHN region includes the Local Government Areas of Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury, Lithgow and Penrith.
