Reflecting on 2019

It has been another busy and exciting year for us as we support quality primary care, commission valuable services and facilitate more integrated care in our region.

This year has been a rewarding year for all at Wentworth Healthcare, we were pleased to commission a variety of new services to address unmet community needs.

This has included establishing pain management programs, a new telephone mental health coaching service; a headspace satellite service in Lithgow; enhanced services for young people at risk of, or living with severe mental illness; new psychosocial support services; mental health support for people living in residential aged care services; innovative initiatives to address social isolation; new addiction support services; and numerous community grants to support the well-being of farmers and farming communities, just to name a few.

We were proud to launch our ‘Primary Care Disaster Preparedness Guide’ at the WADEM Congress in May and were thrilled to be recognised for the development of a free online NDIS Support Calculator at the Western Sydney Awards for Business Excellence, winning the award for innovation.

A lot of what we do as a PHN is ‘behind the scenes’ and can easily go unrecognised. To mark the end of the year, we have put together a short video below featuring some of our staff reflecting on their proudest achievements in 2019.

Office Closure

Our office will be closed for the holiday period from midday on Friday 20 December. We will re-open at 9:00 am Thursday 2 January 2020.

Our Psychological Therapy Services (including SOS Suicide Prevention Service) will be closed for referrals over this period.

During this time, if a GP assesses a client as eligible for the SOS service, they can call the after-hours suicide support line on 1800 859 585 so that the patient can receive appropriate phone support.

The GP will then need to call the SOS Intake Line when our offices re-open to make a referral for face-to-face support.

We wish you all a safe and happy holiday!
