Community Wellbeing and Resilience Grants

We are pleased to announce the launch of the Community Wellbeing and Resilience Grants. The grants have been funded through the Federal and NSW Government in response to the 2022 floods to support the mental health of those affected.

There is no doubt that the last two and half years have been incredibly difficult for everyone, but particularly our region as we have also seen our fair share of natural disasters on top of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Our Wellbeing Grants to Support Farming Communities, and Community Wellbeing Grants which supported bushfire affected communities have proven the importance of community connection and cohesion for greater resilience both during and post natural disaster events.

Through these grants, we have seen new friendships form and isolated community members connected in with both appropriate local services and the broader community. Communities have reported a greater sense of belonging and strengthened links with those around them, ensuring that when the next disaster hits, they know they aren’t alone and will be well supported.

The Community Wellbeing and Resilience Grants will continue to build on existing connections and resilience. They will allow communities the opportunity to choose their own way to respond to the losses, anxiety and distress they have experienced, as well as actively participate in their recovery.

A range of activities and initiatives will be considered appropriate to support community-led wellbeing. We encourage you to check out the guidelines, apply for a grant and share with your connections who may also be interested. Applications close 11:59pm Sunday 10 July.
